Prize money of $6.9 million will be distributed in the ICC Champions Trophy


Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize money for the Champions Trophy.
The total prize money of the ICC has been increased by 53 percent from the previous edition.
According to the announcement, prize money of $6.9 million will be distributed in the ICC Champions Trophy, with the winning team getting $2.24 million while the runner-up team getting $1.12 million.
The two losing teams in the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy will get $560,000, while the teams winning each group match will get $34,000.
The teams finishing fifth and sixth will get $350,000 while the team finishing seventh will get $140,000. Each team will also get $125,000 for playing in the event.
It is pertinent to note that the ICC Champions Trophy will be hosted by Pakistan from February 19 to March 9.
