Recording of testimony of prosecution witnesses in case began on Jan 15


Rawalpindi: The testimony of eight more witnesses was recorded against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders in the GHQ attack case, after which the number of witnesses reached 25.
According to the details, the GHQ attack case on May 9 was heard in Adiala Jail. The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Amjad Ali Shah reached Adiala Jail where the PTI founder was presented.
The accused Sheikh Rashid, Zartaj Gul, and others nominated to attend the hearing reached Adiala Jail. Prosecutor Zaheer Shah reached Adiala Jail with his team. The accused’s lawyer Faisal Malik reached Adiala Jail with his legal team, and the eyewitnesses of the prosecution summoned by the court also reached there. After the permission of the jail authorities, the prosecutor, lawyers, accused, witnesses entered the jail.
During the hearing, the testimony of eight more prosecution witnesses was recorded, a total of 25 witnesses have been recorded in the case. Those who recorded their testimony today included Sub-Inspector Babar Sajjad, Aqeel Ahmed, Rajab Ali Ahmed Nawaz, Sub-Inspector Irfan Hussain, Shamrez Mehboob, Constable Talib Hussain, and Constable Samra Ashfaq.
The recording of the testimony of the prosecution witnesses in the case began on January 15. In the last eight hearings, the prosecution recorded the testimony of 25 witnesses.
The police presented the non-bailable arrest warrants and advertisements of the main absconding accused and non-bailable arrest warrants and advertisements of the accused Murad Saeed, Hammad Azhar, Raja Basharat, and Zulfi Bukhari.
A female police officer presented the mobile phones recovered from the accused Nadia Hussain and Fatima Ahsan in the court.
Later, the hearing of the May 9 GHQ attack case was adjourned until February 26.
It is pertinent to note that the GHQ attack case has been registered at RA Bazar police station.
