(Web Desk): The government has announced a price reduction for fuel, cutting Rs4 per litre on high-speed diesel (HSD) and Rs1 on petrol due to a drop in global oil prices.
The new prices, effective from February 16, are Rs256.13 per litre for petrol and Rs263.95 per litre for HSD.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) recommended the price change based on global oil market fluctuations.
HSD, which is crucial for transport and agriculture, is now priced at Rs263.95 per litre. This price cut may help lower transportation costs, possibly easing inflation on goods.
Petrol, used mainly in motorcycles and cars, saw a smaller reduction of Rs1 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs256.13.
