Court directed the accused to undergo medical check-up


Karachi: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has extended the physical remand of accused Armaghan Qureshi, arrested in the Mustafa Amir kidnapping and murder case, for another five days.
The public prosecutor said that the physical remand of the accused should be extended, while the investigation officer told the court that they had found the girl they tortured. The girl’s statement is to be recorded today, and the statements of the witnesses under 164 should be recorded.
The accused’s lawyer opposed the police’s request for physical remand, while Armaghan said that he is being kept in constant torture, he is not being given food, and he has not been able to go to the washroom for 10 days. The court replied that this is not possible, a person who has not gone to the bathroom for 10 days cannot even stand.
Armaghan's lawyer said that we should be given notice before recording the statements of the accused or witnesses. A four-hour police encounter took place, the mother made Armaghan surrender, his statement should be recorded, and he should undergo a medical check-up.
The investigating officer said that the victim's DNA should be done. While the public prosecutor said that there is a sensation in the whole country, that the accused should be investigated for money laundering and drug smuggling. The accused is very clever and is not cooperating in the investigation. Until the investigation is completed, the meeting should not be allowed.
Armaghan's lawyer said that if the accused refuses to comply with Section 164, he will be sent to jail custody, to which the court said that when the accused makes a confessional statement, he will be sent to jail custody, and the magistrate before whom the statement is made also knows the legal requirements.
The court allowed the parents to meet Armaghan. The public prosecutor said that the accused should not be allowed to meet his parents, a fight would break out. The court said that if there is any noise, he should be informed immediately.
The court extended the physical remand of Armaghan Qureshi and Shiraz, accused in the Mustafa murder case, by five days and directed that the accused undergo a medical check-up.
