Sindh Cabinet approves procurement of double-decker, electric buses for Karachi
Electric bikes will be distributed to women through monthly lottery


Karachi: The Sindh Cabinet has approved the procurement of double-decker buses and additional electric buses for Karachi.
Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Memon, while addressing a press conference, stated that the Sindh Cabinet has decided to automate the Anti-Narcotics department. The Cabinet also approved the procurement of double-decker buses and additional electric buses.
He mentioned that the Prime Minister had promised that the federal government would provide 180 electric buses, and the promise should be fulfilled. However, the federal government has not allocated funds for the purchase of these buses.
The provincial minister also announced that the Transport Department is going to provide free pink scooters to women. Women who possess a two-wheeler license will be eligible for the scooters. Electric bikes will be distributed to women through a monthly lottery. Students and working women will be eligible for electric bikes.
Sharjeel Memon stated that women who do not know how to ride a bike will be trained by female instructors. Women receiving the electric bikes will not be allowed to sell them for seven years.
