Indian actress Ranya Rao arrested for smuggling 14 kg of gold
DRI officials detain actress at Bengaluru International Airport and seize 14.8 kilograms of gold from her possession

(Web Desk): Indian actress Ranya Rao has been arrested for smuggling over 14 kilograms of gold, according to Indian media reports.
Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials detained the actress at Bengaluru International Airport and seized 14.8 kilograms of gold from her possession.
Reports indicate that the actress had made four trips to Dubai in the past 15 days, and due to these frequent visits, she was under the surveillance of DRI officials. Two days ago, after arriving from Dubai at Bengaluru Airport, she was apprehended by the police. During the search, it was discovered that the actress had allegedly hidden a large quantity of gold in her jacket and in the form of gold bars concealed in her clothing, attempting to smuggle it.
The gold recovered from her possession is estimated to be worth around 12 crore Indian rupees. Media reports also mention that Ranya Rao claimed to be the daughter of the Director General of Police (DGP) upon her arrival at the airport, and her claim is currently being investigated.
Meanwhile, the actress is being interrogated, and she will soon be presented in court in Bengaluru. Ranya Rao is well-known for her role opposite Kannada superstar Sudeep in the film Maanikya.
