Court granted bail to 15 PTI workers against bond of Rs20,000


Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court, Islamabad, has granted bail to 15 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers in cases related to the November 26 protest.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Amir Zia issued a written decision. The court granted bail to 15 PTI workers against a bond of Rs20,000 after their arrest and directed the lawyer to submit an affidavit on behalf of the accused.
The text of the decision states that the accused should submit an affidavit that they will not be involved in any such activities in the future. According to the lawyers of the accused, the accused were not named in the case. An identity parade was held but the legal requirements were not fulfilled.
According to the decision, the accused’s lawyer said that the plaintiff was not authorized to register the case. The special prosecutor opposed the bail. According to the special prosecutor, the accused were identified in the identity parade.
According to the prosecution, the accused also violated Section 144 and the decision of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
According to the record, the IHC has granted bail to the co-accused in the case. Since the accused have the same role in the case, the bail of all these accused is also granted.
