PDMA in Punjab and K-P has instructed local administrations to stay alert

(Web Desk): A new spell of rain and snowfall is expected to begin across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from March 9 to March 16, prompting weather warnings from authorities.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in the mountainous areas of both provinces, affecting both the upper and plain regions of KP.
To prepare for this, the Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMA) in Punjab and KP have instructed local administrations to stay alert and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents due to heavy rain or snowfall. The PDMA in KP has also advised officials to ensure machinery and resources are available in vulnerable areas. Farmers have been asked to keep an eye on the weather forecast while planning their agricultural activities.
Tourists traveling to northern areas have been advised to check weather conditions and road closures before heading out. The PDMA has made its helpline available for further guidance on travel and safety.
In Punjab, including Lahore, the weather remains pleasant, with temperatures rising gradually. However, rain is expected in several districts of the province from March 12 to March 16. For now, most districts in Punjab, including Lahore, will experience cloudy and sunny intervals, but no rain is expected. The temperature in Lahore is expected to be between 17°C and 27°C.
