The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) militants attacked the Jaffer Express traveling from Quetta to Peshawar, killing the driver and several passengers, while many others were injured.
The militants stopped the train in the Machh mountains and took it hostage. There were 500 passengers on board, and security forces are conducting an operation against the militants.
The train departed from Quetta at 9:30 AM today. When the train passed through the Gudalaar and Piro Kanari areas, unidentified terrorists opened fire on it. As a result, the driver was critically injured and later died from his wounds. Several passengers also lost their lives in the attack.
Eyewitnesses and Levies sources report that the incident occurred in the Muchh mountains, where the Jaffer Express was halted. The sound of gunfire continued for a long time.
80 Passengers Rescued
Security sources confirmed that during the clearance operation, 80 hostages were rescued by the security forces. These included 43 men, 26 women, and 11 children.
According to security sources, efforts are underway to safely release the remaining passengers, and the noose around the militants has been tightened. The operation will continue until the last militant is neutralized.
There were at least 500 passengers on the train, confirmed by railway officials.

According to the DS Railway's PRO, emergency measures have been implemented in all hospitals, and ambulances have been dispatched from Sibi to the scene.

There are currently no reports of the militants fleeing, but reports suggest that they have taken the passengers hostage and are occupying the train, with intermittent gunfire in the area.
