Pakistan has signed more agreements for procuring the anti-coronavirus vaccines whereas the country would be getting about 15 million vaccine doses in the coming month.

As per the health ministry, Pakistan to receive two large consignments of the anti-COVID shots from Chinese companies this month while 2 million doses of the Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine to be delivered in the last week of July.
Sources privy to the development say that 3 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine will also arrive in Pakistan whereas 4 million doses from China and 2.5 million Moderna doses from COVAX already delivered.
Sources said that a consignment of raw material will also be procured from Chinese company CanSino for the preparation of PakVac.
The country also intends to receive the first batch of 100,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine and the second batch of AstraZeneca.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than the previous two waves but some data suggested the spread of the disease has been contained.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,683 cases of coronavirus were reported while 24 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,493.
The total number of confirmed cases reached 967,633.
As many as 910,609 patients have recovered from the disease with 1,980 critical cases.
