‘It is true that I intend to enter politics, and I will begin this journey with Shaheed Bhutto group’

Islamabad: Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Jr., the son of the late Mir Murtaza Bhutto, has confirmed his decision to step into the political arena, expressing his intent to begin his political journey with the Pakistan Peoples Party's Shaheed Bhutto group.
In a statement to the media, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Jr. said, “It is true that I intend to enter politics, and I will begin this journey with the Shaheed Bhutto group, a faction of the Pakistan Peoples Party.”
The young Bhutto emphasized the historical significance of the party, stating, "This party was founded by my father, and it continues to exist today. We will lead it forward, building on the legacy of our predecessors." He also acknowledged the importance of learning from his country and its people, adding, "I have much to learn because I do not believe I know everything. I am preparing for the responsibilities that lie ahead."
Bhutto Jr. also addressed critical issues affecting his home province, Sindh, particularly the water scarcity issue. He called it a matter of life and death for the people of Sindh, highlighting, "If there is no water, both humans and aquatic life in the region will perish." He further referred to the ongoing crisis as a form of "cultural genocide," underscoring the severity of the situation.
When asked about the political climate in Sindh, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Jr. noted that the provincial government appears to be under pressure. He explained, "The government is trembling, having witnessed the growing protests, including demonstrations by schoolchildren and women. This is forcing them to change their stance and adjust their narrative."
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Jr.'s announcement marks a new chapter in the political landscape, as he prepares to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, who were both prominent political figures in Pakistan’s history.
