Lahore: The wholesale price of sugar has decreased by Rs10 per kg, after which the ex-mill price of sugar has decreased from Rs163 to Rs153 per kg.
President of the Grocery Merchants Association Punjab Arif Gujjar said that the wholesale price of sugar has decreased after Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif took notice. However, it will take a few days for the price of sugar in the market to come down below Rs165.
He says that the increase in the price of sugar was due to collusion, and the wrong permission for sugar export.
He has demanded that the price of sugar be brought back to Rs140 per kg.
