He described state's actions against terrorism as commendable


Islamabad: The closed-door meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security took place in connection with strict security measures inside and around the Parliament House.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the participants of the meeting, said that terrorism has become a scourge for the country, and we have to sit here and find a long-term and sustainable solution to it.
He stated that terrorism has no place on the soil of Pakistan. We cannot forget the sacrifices of the martyr. We have resolved to completely cleanse the country of terrorism, and peace, order, and security will be ensured in the country.
Shehbaz Sharif added that the entire nation is united in the war against terrorism and will defeat terrorism at all costs. It would have been good if the opposition friends had also attended the important meeting.
The Prime Minister described the state's actions against terrorism as commendable and a matter of pride and paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country on behalf of the nation.
It is pertinent to note that a closed-door meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security was held under the chairmanship of the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, in which top government and military leaders participated. Army Chief General Asim Munir, DG ISI Asim Malik, DG MI, and DG IB Fawad Asad attended the meeting.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur, and Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also reached Parliament House to attend the meeting.
The Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan, Governor KP, and IG Police of all four provinces have also reached Parliament House. 38 members of the federal cabinet also participated in the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security.
16 members of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are participating in the meeting headed by Bilawal Bhutto.
Two members of the PML-Q, Abdul Aleem Khan of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) and Senator Jan Muhammad of the National Party, Ijaz-ul-Haq of the PML-N are also participating in the meeting.
It is also reported that PTI Member of the National Assembly Bashir Khan reached the house and left after staying for some time. BNP chief Mengal Sardar Akhtar Mengal was also invited to the meeting but did not attend. Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Mahmood Khan Achakzai also did not attend the meeting.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq delivered the opening remarks and welcomed the participants. The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and which the national anthem was played.
Opposition’s behavior is against parliamentary traditions: Speaker
Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq said in his opening remarks that he welcomes all the participants in today’s meeting. The situation facing the country requires unity and harmony.
Ayaz Sadiq stated that it was a pity that the opposition did not attend today's meeting, we had also invited them and it would have been good if they had also attended. We have to get the country out of problems together. The opposition's behavior is against parliamentary traditions. They disappointed the nation today, the opposition leader and his party should have attended the very important meeting.
