Two alleged criminals killed, police constable martyred in police encounter

Police said another robber managed to escape and hunt has been launched to track him down. The police constable identified as Asad Jameel whom body has been shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for legal formalities.   

The incident took place in Kot Bari area of the Saddar police jurisdiction where robbers were looting some citizens.

According to police, the suspects were killed by the firing of their runaway accomplice.

The indentity of deceased criminals is not yet ascertained. Later the funeral of martyred constable was offered at the District Police Lines and he was buried locally.

Robber killed in Karachi

An alleged robber was killed after a citizen who was getting robbed off cash by two robbers resisted and opened fire in Phase 6 of the Defence Housing Authority in Karachi.

Police said the citizen was heading somewhere after withdrawing Rs450,000 from a bank when two armed motorcyclists intercepted and stopped him and attempted to loot cash at gunpoint.

The vicitm, who too possessed a gun, opened fire on the suspects and a crossfire took place between the two sides.

The firing left one of the robbers fatally wounded. The other fled the scene. The citizen escaped unhurt.

The wounded robber succumbed to wounds later.

Robber caught red-handed   

An alleged robber was caught red-handed after he attempted to loot cash and valuables from a pharmacy in Samanabad locality of Lahore.

Samanabad SHO Muhammad Zaka was on patrolling along with his subordinates when they saw some people running out of a pharmacy. After seeing police the suspect tried to open fire on policemen, but police held him at gunpoint with warning shots.

The suspect beat phramacy employees soon after entering the shop. Police said the suspect identified as Waseem alias Bhayya is wanted by police in cases of theft, robbery, snatching and firing and possessing illegal weapons.
