WhatsApp to let users share Spotify music in status updates
This feature is still under development and will be available in future update

(Web Desk): WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow users to share their favorite Spotify songs directly in their status updates. This feature will be available in a future update.
According to reports from WABetaInfo, the new feature will be part of the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.25.8.3. When users share a song from Spotify, they will have the option to post it as a status update, in addition to the usual option to send it to a contact or group.
If users choose to share the song as a status, WhatsApp will generate a preview of the track. This preview will show the song's title, artist name, and album cover, making it more visually engaging for those viewing the status. This feature works similarly to music sharing on Instagram Stories when users post songs from Spotify.
The new feature will make music sharing more interactive, as viewers can click on a “Play on Spotify” button directly in the status update. This will take them straight to the song in the Spotify app, making it easier to listen to the shared music.
It’s important to note that WhatsApp will not have access to the specific songs users share from Spotify. Since WhatsApp uses end-to-end encryption for status updates, only the intended recipients will be able to see the shared music.
This feature is still under development and will be available in a future update.
