Amazon to cut 14,000 jobs
Number of managers will decrease from 105,770 to 91,936

Amazon has decided to cut 14,000 jobs as it steps up efforts to cut costs and improve efficiency.
Leading e-commerce company Amazon has planned to cut 14,000 jobs in its global management team, which will be completed by 2025.
According to a report by Financial Express, this decision is part of the company’s strategy to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
The move is expected to save the company between INR2.1 billion and INR3.6 billion annually.
After a 13 percent reduction in Amazon’s global management staff, the number of managers will decrease from 105,770 to 91,936.
The decision follows recent layoffs in Amazon’s communications and sustainability departments, reflecting the company’s broader restructuring.
Amazon has decided to close some projects, such as its ‘Try Before You Buy’ clothing trial program and its express delivery service, in order to focus more on its core services.
The layoffs are part of Amazon CEO Andy Geiss’ new strategy, which aims to speed up decision-making and make the company more efficient.
Amazon has significantly increased its workforce during the COVID-19 outbreak.
