Management of social media channel expressed concern over this move


Karachi: Senior journalist Farhan Malik was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Karachi on charges of violating PECA laws.
Senior journalist and former director of news of a private TV channel and chairman of a social media channel Farhan Malik was arrested by the FIA Cyber Circle.
According to media reports, an inquiry was underway on Farhan Malik regarding a case due to which he was summoned by the FIA Cyber Crime several times.
After receiving the summons, Farhan reached the FIA Cyber Crime office at 1:00pm where he was made to wait and was arrested by the FIA at 6:00pm.
The management of the social media channel expressed concern over this move and termed it an attack on freedom of the press.
Journalist institutions and organizations have condemned the arrest and demanded the immediate release of Farhan Malik.
