(Rawalpindi): Security forces have thwarted an infiltration attempt by terrorist in North Waziristan, killing 16 terrorists in the process.
According to the ISPR, the terrorists attempted to infiltrate in the area of Ghulam Khan Khel in North Waziristan, which was foiled by timely action from the security forces.
The ISPR said that on the night of March 22 and 23, the militants tried to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. After an intense exchange of fire, all 16 militants were killed.
The ISPR further stated that Pakistan has consistently demanded effective border management from the Afghan interim government, and it is hoped that the Afghan interim government will fulfill its responsibilities. It is expected that the Afghan interim government will prevent terrorists from using Afghan soil.
The ISPR emphasized that security forces are determined to protect the country's borders and eliminate terrorism.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised the security forces for thwarting the terrorists' infiltration attempt. He said that the evil intentions of the terrorists will never succeed, and the entire nation stands with the brave Pakistan armed forces.
