Month of Ramadan is expected to be 29 days long, making Eid-ul-Fitr fall on March 31

Islamabad: Pakistan's Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has also predicted the sighting of the moon of Shawwal 1446 AH.
According to a statement issued by SUPARCO, the month of Ramadan is expected to be 29 days long, making the Eid-ul-Fitr fall on March 31.
The SUPARCO statement said that the new moon of Shawwal will be formed on March 29 at 3:58pm and the moon will be about 27 hours old at sunset on March 30.
According to the announcement, on March 30, the angular distance between the moon and the sun will be about 16 degrees and the height of the moon at sunset will be about 14 degrees, so the crescent will be easily visible to the human eye on March 30. However, the decision on the final sighting of Eid-ul-Fitr is the responsibility of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
On the other hand, the announcement of SUPARCO also stated that the chances of seeing the moon on March 29 in Saudi Arabia are negligible. The age of the moon at sunset in Mecca will be about 5 hours.
The announcement further stated that the crescent will be visible in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East on March 30 and the Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on March 31, 2025.
