Comedian Hassan Abbas honored with Confessional Art Award in New York
This is second time that he has been honored with award in New York, USA


New York: Pakistani comedian Hassan Abbas was awarded the Confessional Art Award in New York on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
Hassan Abbas is a leading stand-up comedian in the subcontinent.
He has been associated with the art of music, comedy, stage, TV, film, and entertainment industries for the past 40 years.
During this time, he was a regular student of renowned music teachers Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Ustad Ghulam Abbas and spent a long time in the company of renowned ghazal singers of the subcontinent Ustad Ghulam Ali, Ustad Mehr Ali, and Ustad Sher Ali Qawwal, renowned comedians late Amanullah Khan and Sohail Ahmed.
Following in the footsteps of these teachers, he established the best combination of classical music, musical comedy, parody, impressionistic acting, and voice acting in art music.
His fans are spread across the subcontinent, the Middle East, the Far East, Europe, and America, where he has performed his art many times in the last 30 years.
Comedian Hassan Abbas is also called the artist of artists. He not only entertains the general public with his art, but he is also a source of entertainment for senior fellow artists and often adds to the charm of their private gatherings.
He has received several awards from the Pakistani Stage Theater. This is the second time that he has been honored with an award in New York, USA.
Earlier, in 2014, he was also given the title of ‘Mr. Comedy’ in New York. Hassan Abbas' art is also appreciated by singer Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, renowned Indian singer Dalir Mehdi, and Hans Raj Hans.
On receiving the art award, Hassan Abbas thanked the entire Pakistani American community, especially the host organization, All Pakistani American Coalition.
