‘Exact cause of the accident is still unknown’

(Web Desk): A car traveling to Swat from Bisham plunged into a ravine in the Matta Aghwan area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla district, killing four local tourists on Saturday.
Rescue 1122 spokesperson Rasool Khan Sharif said the tourists were traveling through the Bisham-Swat road when the accident occurred. Four people died at the scene, and one person was injured.
The rescue team arrived shortly after receiving an emergency call and retrieved the bodies of the deceased. They also took the injured person to the Alpuri district hospital.
Alpuri Station House Officer Mohammad Arif Khan confirmed the incident details. The victims were identified as Hassan Khan, Jawad Khan, Mohammad Umair, and Hamad Khan, while the injured person was named Dilawar Khan. Police stated all the victims were from the Nawab Pur area of Multan.
The SHO said arrangements were being made to send the bodies to their hometowns, and the injured person was transferred to a hospital in Swat for further treatment.
While the exact cause of the accident is still unknown, police confirmed that the vehicle had been recovered by the rescue team.
Fatal accidents are common in the mountainous regions of the country due to violations of traffic rules, dangerous terrain, and poor road conditions.
