US$70,000, $2,200 Canadian, and Rs160,000 were recovered from suspect

Karachi: More than Rs20 million worth of local and foreign currency was recovered from a passenger traveling from Karachi to Toronto.
According to the Airport Security Force (ASF) spokesperson, an attempt to smuggle local and foreign currency to Canada was foiled.
The spokesperson said that the passenger had arrived at Karachi Airport to go to Toronto. During the search of the passenger’s luggage, 70,000 US dollars and 2,200 Canadian dollars, and Rs160,000 were also recovered from the possession of the suspect.
The ASF spokesperson further said that after the initial investigation, the suspect was handed over to the customs authorities for further action.
