Arshad Chaiwala's CNIC, passport blocked over citizenship concerns
He is being asked for proof of residence before 1978

Rawalpindi: Arshad Khan, also known as Chaiwala, has had his identity card and passport blocked.
Arshad Khan, who rose to fame after his picture selling tea in a market in Islamabad at the age of 17 went viral on social media, questions have been raised about his Pakistani citizenship.
NADRA and passport authorities have blocked Arshad Khan’s identity card and passport for not presenting evidence of citizenship.
Arshad Khan has approached the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) through advocate Omar Ijaz Gilani against the blocking of his identity card and passport.
The petitioner has taken a stand in the court that he is being asked for proof of residence before 1978, on which the court has summoned the relevant authorities along with the records on April 17.
