FO spokesperson added that they are in contact with US concerning suspension of educational visas


Islamabad: The Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that they are in touch with the US regarding the suspension of educational visas. The matter of the US establishing an air base in Bagram is a rumor on social media.
At a weekly media briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office Spokesperson stated that the US is a major export destination for us. We are seeing rapid tariff changes from the US; the Prime Minister has also formed a steering committee on this issue.
The spokesperson added that they are in communication with the US concerning the suspension of educational visas. The recently terminated U-Grad program was a milestone for Pakistani students.
Shafqat Ali Khan further said that Pakistan has important relations with Afghanistan. The recent visit of the Special Representative to Kabul was quite important and many topics were discussed.
He also stated that Pakistan has always stood by its Afghan sisters and brothers in difficult times. However, securing our borders is our policy and we are implementing the return of illegally residing foreigners.
Shafqat Ali Khan further said that foreign policy is a federal matter. The provincial government will check the TORs of negotiations with Afghanistan with the Afghan desk.
The spokesperson continued to say that the issue of the US establishing an air base in Bagram is a social media rumor, but this is a mutual matter between the Afghan and US governments.
He said that the United Arab Emirates has not imposed a visa ban on Pakistani citizens, while Saudi Arabia has imposed a temporary ban on visas for 14 countries. We are collecting information in this regard and are in contact with Saudi Arabia.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that we will look into the information about the participation of the prisoners brought to Pakistan from Britain in social events. Our record on Tahir Rana says that he has not renewed his Pakistani citizenship for the last two years.
He said that Iran is our important neighbor and close friend, and our relations are very important. The JCPO is a good example of solving a complex problem and we are eager to solve all problems through dialogue.
The Foreign Office Spokesperson said that China is a strategic and close partner of Pakistan. The protection of Chinese citizens is our primary responsibility.
