(Web Desk): Police have booked dancer Mehak Malik, a well-known transgender person, for allegedly performing to vulgar songs at a private wedding ceremony.
Malik, 35, and others have been accused of violating the Amplifier Act. However, no arrests have been made so far in connection with the case.
As per the First Information Report (FIR), Malik was invited to perform at a mehndi ceremony held in a village in Mandi Yazman.
During the event, she allegedly wore revealing clothing and danced to obscene songs. The other accused individuals are said to have showered money on her during the performance.
Ten individuals have been named in the case, while 25 unidentified persons have also been booked. It has also emerged that some government employees, including a police constable, were present at the event. However, they have not been named in the case.
