Interrogation of the suspect is currently underway

Lahore: In a major breakthrough, Lahore police have arrested a fugitive robber 13 years after he committed a violent home robbery in the city. The suspect, identified as Mushtaq, was tracked down in Bahawalpur with the help of modern technology and arrested by the police.
According to officials, Mushtaq, along with three accomplices, carried out a robbery at a residence in Model Town Extension, Lahore, more than a decade ago. The gang looted gold jewelry worth millions, cash, and other valuables. During the heist, they also physically assaulted the family members present in the house.
SP Model Town, Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar, confirmed the arrest and said that interrogation of the suspect is currently underway. He added that a city-wide crackdown against long-wanted criminals and absconders is in full swing across the provincial capital.
“It’s part of our ongoing efforts to bring all absconders to justice, no matter how long it takes,” SP Tarar said.
The robbery took place at the home of Mubashir Saeed, a local banker, and remained unsolved for years. Police are now hopeful that Mushtaq’s arrest will lead to the capture of his remaining accomplices and the recovery of additional stolen items.
