Lahore: Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said that the current situation of the National cricket team is displaying that it will also be defeated in the third ODI against England to be played tomorrow.
Talking to a private TV channel, Rawalpindi Express said that no improvement was expected anytime soon from Pakistan's average team management.
“He had already told that England would win the series 0-3.”
He thought that it was his mistake to support Wasim Khan and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management, as long as these people will leave the cricket board, they will bring Pakistan cricket to the brink of disaster.
Continuing, the former fast bowler said that Waqar Younis, the current bowling coach of the national team had never considered any bowler a worth-it while “I present myself as a bowling coach free of cost.”
Shoaib Akhtar said that if Pakistan cricket is to be improved then a coach like Andy Flower or Ricky Ponting has to be brought in.
At present, there is not a single mature batsman in the national team, he added.
He alleged that the current team management has included T20 players in the One Day International (ODI) squad and Vice-Versa.
Quoting an example he said that, Sohaib Maqsood was selected in the national team for his T20 performances while he is playing ODIs even though there is no better middle-order batsman than Sarfraz Ahmed.
Pakistan has already lost the first two matches of the three-match ODI series. In the first match, they lost by 9 wickets, followed by a 52-run defeat in the second ODI played at Lord's.
