According to YDA, strike currently affects only OPDs, while emergency and indoor services continue as normal

Rawalpindi: A strike is ongoing across Punjab on the call of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) in protest against the possible privatization of public hospitals.
Outpatient departments (OPDs) have been completely shut down in three major hospitals in Rawalpindi — Benazir Bhutto General Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital — causing serious difficulties for patients seeking medical treatment.
Dr. Arif Aziz, president of YDA at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, said that they strongly oppose the privatization of hospitals and will continue their peaceful protest against the government’s move.
He also condemned the use of water cannons on protesting doctors in Lahore, calling it unacceptable. He expressed full solidarity with those who were subjected to such violence.
According to the YDA, the strike currently affects only OPDs, while emergency and indoor services continue as normal. However, sources say the protest may expand further if their demands are not met.
