Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan will host the ceremony of the agreement between the United States and Iran in Geneva.

Addressing the National Assembly, the Prime Minister said that after a dark night of war, the sun of peace has risen. The United States and Iran have announced the permanent end of military operations on all fronts, and both sides have shown patience, tolerance, and wisdom in difficult circumstances.

During the session, Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to Nawaz Sharif for his continuous guidance, and congratulated President Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and other party leaders.

He said the agreement is not just between two countries but a victory of peace, dialogue, and diplomacy.

The Prime Minister also congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, the Iranian President, and all members of both negotiating teams involved in the peace process.

He thanked the leadership of Qatar’s Emir, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the President of Türkiye for their cooperation and visionary support during the delicate and challenging process.

He further appreciated Chinese President Xi Jinping for facilitating the negotiation process and helping move the talks forward.

Shehbaz Sharif said this moment is a matter of pride for every Pakistani citizen, and the world has witnessed a great success of peace efforts.

He added that mentioning Field Marshal Asim Munir is essential, stating that the Field Marshal played a key role in efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote peace, and did not lose courage during difficult times.

He concluded that the Pakistani people stood firmly with the government, and expressed confidence that this peace agreement will contribute to global economic stability and bring relief to the people.
