Fawad Khan’s ‘Abir Gulaal’ faces boycott calls after Pahalgam attack
The film's team remains determined to release the film on its scheduled date

(Web Desk): After the attack in the tourist area of Pahalgam in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), various Indian film organizations and social media users are once again demanding a boycott of Fawad Khan's new film ‘Abir Gulaal’.
According to Times of India, social media users have called for a ban on ‘Abir Gulaal’ and for a future ban on any Pakistani actor being cast in Indian films, using the recent attack in Pahalgam as a justification.
Most social media users have made one-sided claims, demanding the boycott of the Pakistani actor's film in connection with the Pahalgam attack.
Some users wrote that after the recent attack in Pahalgam, should India continue to make films like ‘Abir Gulaal’ with Pakistani actors?
Others reminded that during the release of Fawad Khan's Bollywood film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, an attack occurred in the Uri area of occupied Kashmir, where 19 Indian soldiers were killed, and now, another attack has occurred just before the release of this actor’s new Bollywood film.
In September 2016, the Uri attack took place at the Indian army’s headquarters, a month before the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
After the Uri attack, both India and Pakistan imposed bans on each other's artists and films. However, nearly a decade later, Fawad Khan was making his return to Indian films, but now another attack has occurred at a tourist spot in occupied Kashmir.
Following this attack, not only social media users but also various film organizations in India have demanded a ban on Fawad Khan’s ‘Abir Gulaal’.
According to Times Now, following the Pahalgam attack, several film organizations have also demanded a ban on Fawad Khan's ‘Abir Gulaal’, but the film's team remains determined to release the film on the announced date.
‘Abir Gulaal’ is set to release on May 9, and Fawad Khan is currently in Dubai, UAE, promoting the film with Indian actress Vani Kapoor.
