Special immigration counters are being set up at both airports to help the pilgrims


(Web Desk): A 45-member Saudi team arrived in Pakistan on Sunday to check preparations for the Road to Makkah project.
The initiative is designed to make travel easier for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims. Officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs welcomed the delegation at Islamabad International Airport, one of the main locations for the project.
Under the Road to Makkah project, pilgrims will complete immigration in Pakistan before flying to Saudi Arabia. This year, about 50,500 Pakistanis will benefit from the project. Around 28,000 pilgrims will fly from Islamabad and 21,000 from Karachi.
To manage the process, 100 Hajj flights will depart from Islamabad and 80 from Karachi. Special immigration counters are being set up at both airports to help the pilgrims.
The Road to Makkah project first started in 2019 and is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to simplify the Hajj journey for pilgrims from selected countries, including Pakistan.
