After news channels, India bans Pakistani drama content on YouTube
Pakistani dramas are extremely popular in India and are widely watched on YouTube

(Web Desk): The Indian government has now banned YouTube channels that stream Pakistani dramas and other entertainment content, following earlier restrictions on Pakistani news YouTube channels.
Using the April 22 attack in the tourist area of Pahalgam, located in Indian-occupied Kashmir, as a pretext, the Indian government had already blocked more than 16 Pakistani news YouTube channels.
The Indian government had also imposed bans on the YouTube channels of content creators, including former cricketers Shoaib Akhtar and Basit Ali.
Now, taking a step further, the Indian government has also banned YouTube channels that air Pakistani dramas.
According to Indian news website Siasat, the Indian government has blocked well-known YouTube channels broadcasting Pakistani dramas in the country following the Pahalgam incident.
The Indian government has labeled the YouTube channels of ARY Digital, Geo TV, and HUM TV as threats to national security and subsequently banned them.
Pakistani dramas are extremely popular in India and are widely watched on YouTube. However, unable to tolerate the growing popularity of Pakistani content over local Indian dramas, the Indian government opted to shut down these Pakistani YouTube channels.
Indian internet users and fans of Pakistani dramas have also posted on social media regarding the ban, expressing their disappointment and opposition to their government’s decision.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani government has not yet banned any Indian news YouTube channels or websites featuring entertainment content.
