10 killed, 39 injured in Upper Kohistan blast
Upper Kohistan: A blast in Dasu-bound passenger coach on Wednesday killed 10 people, including Frontier Corps (FC) personnel and foreigners.
According to Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arif, the blast took place near the Barsin Labor Camp, injuring 39 people.
Muhammad Arif said that two FC personnel and four foreigners were also among the dead.
According to the deputy commissioner, the vehicle was carrying personnel working on Dasu Dam.
The passenger coach of foreign construction workers was departed from the Bursin labour camp while a loud explosion rocked the bus mid-journey.
Rescue teams and police reached the spot after getting information and shifted the deceased and injured to nearby hospital.
The condition of some of the wounded is said to be critical. However, the provincial government had also called for an air ambulance to fasten the rescue.
Police and other law enforcement agencies had cordoned off the area and an investigation is underway to determine the nature of the blast.
Security teams along with the bomb disposal squad have also rushed the site.
