A total of 182 examination centers have been set up across the city

(Web Desk): The first phase of Karachi’s annual intermediate exams for 2025 will begin on Monday, May 5, and continue until Thursday, May 29.
Over 126,500 students are expected to take part in the exams, according to the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).
Exams will be held in two shifts: morning and evening. More than 92,000 students from Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, and Home Economics groups will appear in the morning shift, which will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Around 34,500 students from the General Science group will take their exams in the evening shift from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
A total of 182 examination centers have been set up across the city — 122 for the morning shift and 60 for the evening. Of these, 36 centers have been marked as highly sensitive due to security concerns.
BIEK Chairman Prof. Ghulam Hussain Sohoo stated that all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure fair and transparent exams. Two central monitoring cells have been set up — one at the Karachi Commissioner’s Office and the other at BIEK headquarters — to prevent cheating and monitor the examination process.
Additionally, complaint cells staffed with board representatives will be active in the offices of each district's Deputy Commissioner.
Due to expected heatwave conditions, the board has requested two ambulances for the central control room and asked the Sindh Health Department to provide first aid camps, kits, and ambulances at all exam centers.
