Zapopan: A famous TikTok beauty influencer in Mexico was shot and killed during a live stream.
In the Mexican city of Zapopan, 23-year-old Valeria Marquez was shot while she was live-streaming on TikTok from her beauty salon.
Valeria had more than 100,000 followers on Instagram.

During the live stream, she received a parcel and returned to the camera, but a few moments later, she collapsed in her chair, covered in blood, and the live video continued.
According to police, a suspect who opened fire on Valeria entered the salon and shot her. This incident is a suspected femicide, that is, the murder of a woman based on gender.
According to foreign media, the increasing violence and murders against women have once again put a question mark on Mexico's justice system.
According to Amnesty International, every fourth case of female murder in Mexico in 2020 was recorded as femicide. According to recent government data, 847 women were victims of femicide in 2023.
