Two sides discuss situation on the ground

Islamabad: The Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India established contact via a hotline on Wednesday afternoon, marking the third such communication between the two countries since the ceasefire was agreed upon.
The ceasefire was made possible through the efforts of the United States (US) and other friendly countries. During the call, the two DGMOs discussed the situation on the ground.
While the details of the conversation have not been officially disclosed, informed sources said that both sides agreed to uphold the ceasefire and maintain the status quo established during their earlier communication on Monday.
Additional Secretary and spokesperson for the Foreign Office, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, is expected to brief the media on the matter today.
Meanwhile, that several key global capitals remain in active contact with both countries, urging them to avoid escalating tensions and to take early confidence-building measures (CBMs) to pave the way for formal and high-level dialogue.
