Pakistani documentary ‘Hanging by a Wire’ included in Cannes Film Festival

Pakistani filmmaker Muhammad Ali Naqvi’s new documentary film ‘Hanging by a Wire’ will be presented at the internationally renowned Cannes Film Festival.

Hanging by a Wire is based on a thrilling rescue operation that took place in a mountainous area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in August 2023.

In this incident, a cable car, carrying eight people, including six school children, was left hanging at a height of about 900 feet due to a cable break.

After this dangerous situation, all the people were safely evacuated after several hours of hard work with the help of the Pakistan Army and other institutions.

Muhammad Ali Naqvi thanked all the individuals and institutions involved in the production of this film and called this success a collective effort.

The international recognition of this documentary is being considered a milestone in the field of documentary filmmaking for Pakistan.
