New WhatsApp feature lets users create profile pics with AI
Feature offers a creative and more private way for users to express themselves

(Web Desk): WhatsApp is testing a new feature that lets users create AI-generated profile and group pictures. This tool is now available to a limited number of iOS users through the latest TestFlight beta update, version 25.16.10.70. A wider release is expected soon.
With this new feature, users can simply type a short description of the image they want, and WhatsApp will generate it using AI. This means people no longer need to upload personal photos to set a profile or group picture. Instead, they can create unique images, like avatars, artistic pictures, or themed icons.
To use the feature, users can go to settings and tap on the profile photo section. There, they’ll see an option to create an AI image. A similar option is available for group icons under the group info menu.
The feature offers a creative and more private way for users to express themselves, especially for those who don’t want to use real photos. It may also help users who don’t have a good picture to use.
Although it is currently available to beta testers, some users on the regular iOS version have also started seeing the option, showing that WhatsApp may be slowly expanding the feature to more people.
