Washington: Former US President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with cancer.
According to a foreign news agency, a statement issued by Biden's office said that the former US president has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The statement said that on Friday, 82-year-old Joe Biden was diagnosed with an ‘aggressive’ type of prostate cancer that has spread to the bones.
According to Biden's office, the former president and his family are reviewing treatment options with doctors.
Joe Biden's term as president ended on January 20.
Trump's statement
US President Donald Trump said in his statement, ‘Melania and I are saddened to hear of Joe Biden's cancer diagnosis’.
He expressed his best wishes for Joe Biden and his family and prayed for his speedy recovery.
It is pertinent to note that prostate cancer is a common cancer found in men that develops in the prostate gland.
The prostate is a small gland that is part of the male reproductive system.
