Islamabad: Pakistan has reported a steep rise in daily coronavirus cases amid fears of fourth wave.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,327 cases of coronavirus were reported while 31 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,720.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 983,719.
As many as 917,329 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,388 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 349,475 in the province with 10,856 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 352,472 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,672.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 139,960 in the province with 4,377 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 28,704 confirmed cases while 318 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 21,632 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 597. On the other hand, there are 7,210 cases in GB with 113 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 84,266 cases in the capital city while 787 people have lost their lives.
