Google introduces Veo 3, a 'game-changer' in AI-powered video creation

(Web Desk): In recent months, there has been significant progress in video-generation tools powered by artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has also developed a text-to-video tool called Sora.

Similarly, Google launched a similar tool in 2024 named Veo. Now, during its annual developer conference, the company announced the release of Veo 3, which it claims will be a game changer.

Currently, such tools can generate videos that look impressively realistic, but incorporating audio remains a challenge. However, Veo 3 has the ability to generate both video and audio simultaneously.

Based on Google's Gemini AI model, Veo 3 can produce videos from written instructions that include sound effects, background audio, and dialogue.

Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, stated during the event, “We are now moving out of the silent era of AI video generation.”

His statement holds weight, as currently no other AI video model can generate video and audio at the same time.

It is still unclear whether Veo 3 can generate 4K resolution videos like OpenAI’s Sora.

According to Google, users need to provide written prompts to tell a story, and the AI model will bring those words to life in the form of a video.

For now, this new AI video tool is being launched exclusively in the United States, and only for users subscribed to the $250/month plan in the Gemini app.

Google also announced some updates to its previous Veo 2 video generation model.
