Earlier, fare on various routes was between Rs50 and Rs90

Islamabad: Metro bus travel has become expensive for the citizens of the federal capital, Islamabad.
A new fare policy is being implemented from May 26, 2025, under which the fare per trip has been fixed at Rs100 uniformly on the Orange Line, Green Line, Blue Line, and Electric Feeder routes.
Earlier, the fare on various routes was between Rs50 and Rs90. However, officials say that a review of the fares was inevitable in view of the increasing operational costs, increase in fuel prices, and to maintain the quality of service.
Citizens have expressed different opinions on this decision. Some termed the increase as an economic burden, while others called it a necessary step to provide better facilities. The authorities have appealed to the public for cooperation.
