Tashkent: Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director-General Lieutenant-General Faiz Hameed on Friday said that Pakistan desires peace in Afghanistan while overruled the allegations of infiltration levelled by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.

Pakistan’s top spymaster talked to the media while attending the Central and South Asia Conference 2021 along with Prime Minister Imran Khan and other senior government functionaries.
He said that the hideouts of terrorists are present in Afghanistan, adding that Pakistan is working for a greater cause in the region.
General Faiz said that Pakistan is not supporting any faction in Afghanistan, “We are interested in a negotiated settlement among all the Afghan groups.”
DG ISI categorically stated that these allegations against Pakistan are not true, in fact, infiltration is being done from Afghanistan.
Gen Faiz Hameed went on to say that a peaceful Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan and other countries, adding that Pakistan armed forces personnel were being targeted at the Pak-Afghan border.
Refereeing to the Afghan allegations, the DG ISI further said that the situation would not improve if such allegations are levelled.
During his address, the Afghan president had levelled unfounded allegations against Pakistan, saying that 10,000 fighters had crossed over into Afghanistan from the country.
