Germany has witnessed a series of violent attacks in recent months


(Web Desk): At least 12 people were injured in a knife attack by a woman at the central railway station in Hamburg, Germany, with six reported to be in critical condition.
The 39-year-old female attacker was arrested at the scene, according to reports.
International news agency AFP quoted Hamburg police on social media platform X, stating that the woman acted alone and that investigations into the incident are ongoing. The identity of the attacker has not yet been revealed.
According to a fire department spokesperson, the injured were immediately transported to nearby hospitals. German media reports indicate that the number of seriously injured victims may be lower than initially reported.
Following the attack, German railway company Deutsche Bahn temporarily closed four platforms at the station, causing disruption and difficulties for passengers.
Germany has witnessed a series of violent attacks in recent months, raising serious security concerns. Just this past Sunday, four people were injured in a knife attack at a bar in the city of Bielefeld. That incident also prompted a federal investigation over suspicions that the attacker held extremist views.
