More than 30 fire engines controlled fire in about 90 minutes


Tokyo: A huge explosion occurred at a construction site in the Higashi Kasai area of Edogawa Ward, Tokyo, on Tuesday morning, injuring 10 people.
According to police, the explosion occurred around 9:30am when a construction vehicle caught fire, and it is suspected that the explosion was caused by damage to an underground gas pipeline.
The injured in the explosion include construction workers and nearby residents, aged between 20 and 70. All the injured are out of danger, but some people have complained of throat irritation due to the smoke.
The explosion damaged the windows and shutters of nearby buildings and sent clouds of black smoke into the area.
More than 30 fire engines reached the spot and brought the fire under control in about 90 minutes.
Police and the fire department are conducting further investigations into the incident to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
