Ministry of Railways eliminate record 17,000 vacancies

Islamabad: Under the rightsizing policy, the Ministry of Railways has abolished 17,017 posts in various departments.

This is the largest number of posts abolished by any ministry under the government’s rightsizing policy.

The Ministry of Railways has abolished 6,818 posts in the mechanical department, 1,205 in the electrical department, 3,295 in the infrastructure (civil) department, 504 in the signal department, 1,967 in the commercial department, 1,359 in the non-operational department, and 1,923 in the administration department.

The Ministry of Railways has recently informed the Establishment Division about this decision through an email.
