Watch, pause, search: Google Lens coming to YouTube Shorts
Feature is particularly notable because similar functionality is not available on TikTok or Instagram Reels

(Web Desk): YouTube has announced the introduction of a new feature for Shorts videos.
According to the company, Google Lens will be integrated into YouTube Shorts in the coming weeks. With this addition, users will be able to use Google Lens for search purposes while watching Shorts videos.
For example, if you're watching a short video and become interested in visiting the location shown, you can select the location and ask Lens to identify it. After doing so, you’ll be able to learn about the place’s history and other details.
By integrating Google Lens into YouTube Shorts, the company aims to offer users a visual search option, enabling them to learn more about content in a unique way.
This feature is particularly notable because similar functionality is not available on TikTok or Instagram Reels.
To use this feature, users will need to pause a Shorts video and then select the Lens option from the top menu. After that, by clicking or selecting a specific part of the video, Google Lens will provide relevant information about it.
The company also stated that initially, users will not see ads in the search results.
This new feature will be available to all users in beta version in the coming weeks.
