Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz rejects proposals to increase taxes

(Web Desk): The Punjab government has decided to register unregistered restaurants and wedding halls in the province.
Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has approved the decision to register all restaurants and wedding halls in the province and has directed that steps be taken for their registration.
On this occasion, Maryam Nawaz said that the public will not be burdened unnecessarily by increasing taxes. She stated, "It won’t be allowed that someone who registers gets punished, while those who evade taxes continue to enjoy benefits."
CM Maryam further said that they do not want to place financial pressure on the common man. "A person earning Rs200,000 pays taxes, but those earning millions do not — this is unacceptable."
In addition, she instructed the Punjab Revenue Authority, Mines and Minerals, and other departments to explore new revenue opportunities. The Chief Minister also rejected proposals to increase taxes, saying, "Don’t increase taxes — expand the tax net instead."
