Approximately 236 grams of marijuana and around 68 grams of heroin were recovered

(Web Desk): Recently in Costa Rica, a surprising incident occurred where an attempt was made to smuggle marijuana and heroin into a prison using a cat.
The incident took place earlier this month when prison guards caught the cat trying to sneak inside the jail through a spiked iron fence at night.
The guards found two packets attached to the cat’s back. Upon inspection, approximately 236 grams of marijuana and around 68 grams of heroin were recovered.
The cat was immediately handed over to the National Animal Health Services. The use of animals, especially cats and pigeons, for drug smuggling is a growing trend. Similar incidents have been reported in Panama, Russia, and Costa Rica.
Likewise, in countries like the US, Russia, and Costa Rica, animals have been used to smuggle illegal items such as phones, chargers, and other contraband into prisons.
