Aim of the academy is to provide world-class training to talented youth in athletics and other sports disciplines

(Web Desk): On the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the government has decided to establish a sports academy named after Arshad Nadeem in recognition of his outstanding athletic achievements.
The Arshad Nadeem Sports Academy will be constructed at the Pakistan Sports Complex in Islamabad, with an estimated total cost of approximately Rs2.85 billion.
According to sources, the decision was made following the remarkable performances of Olympic and Asian gold medalist Arshad Nadeem. For the upcoming fiscal year, a proposal has been put forward to allocate Rs300 million for the academy’s development.
The aim of the academy is to provide world-class training to talented youth in athletics and other sports disciplines across the country.
Arshad Nadeem is a decorated athlete who has won gold medals at both the Olympics and the Asian Athletics Championships. He made headlines with a stunning 86.40-meter throw in the men’s javelin final at the Asian Athletics Championship.
In a historic achievement at the Paris Olympics, Arshad Nadeem delivered a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters in the javelin throw event, securing Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medal in 40 years.
